That's right - it ranks even before death and is the thing that most people fear, even speaking before a small group.
The Talk Show for Talkers is a Radio Show & Podcast covering everything to do with public speaking, confidence and leadership. It is published every Friday as a podcast on this website and soon thereafter on iTunes and other podcasting platforms.
The show is hosted by experienced Toastmasters, Ted Mellamphy, a past President of Blarney Toastmasters and the 2017/18 Division A Director of District 71 (UK & Ireland), Moira O'Brien, President of Lee Valley Speakers (2017/18) and of Par Excellence Advanced Toastmasters Club, 2016/17 Director for Area 11 and now Assistant Division A Director for PR, and Paul O'Mahony, VP for PR with Blarney Toastmasters and Par Excellence TM.
First broadcast in 2014, the Talk Show is now in its 4th season with over 150 shows (as of May 2018) and is listened to in more than 30 countries.
We are pleased to be able to bring you Podcasts of all the shows for the Seasons 4 and 5 the current season. Our full archive can also be found on the Irish Radio International Mixcloud account using the following links: Seasons1 & 2, Season 3.
Shows are published here each week on Fridays around 4pm. The four individual segments of the show (without music) are also published on Anchor and iTunes under the name "Irish Talkers", as well as other podcasting sites. These are generally published on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday around 4pm. We will shortly be able to present an index to all the available shows but it will take some time to build this index.
We have just been informed that Irish Radio International is going off air very shortly. Rather than find another Internet radio station to host our show we have decided that we will go podcast only from this coming Friday. We will continue to produce shows weekly and they will be podcasted as before on this website as well as, in individual segments, on iTunes. We are currently in the process of uploading all the 2018 shows to be available on iTunes. We hope that you will stay with us in our new format.
Sometimes it is not possible for us all to be in the same place at the same time to record the show, so we use the zoom.ca app for our recordings. Zoom is a video conferencing app similar to Skype but designed specifically for conferencing. While the quality of the audio, of course, is not as good as recording in the studio, it means that we are able to produce a show when otherwise we would not be able to.
This app is probably the most popular one used by online Toastmasters clubs like "Witty Storytellers" and "The Firebirds Collective" and of course it can be used successfully for hybrid clubs also, as we have found with Par Excellence Toastmasters in Cork city.
We are experiencing some problems with the Chrome browser which is not displaying our podcasts properly. Until this is fixed we recommend that you use another browser to view the Shows page. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
